Moong dal – 1/2 cup (peeled or unpeeled)

Rice – 1 cup

Ghee – 1 tsp

salt – as per taste

  • First of all, wash the rice and lentils thoroughly and soak them for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Heat four cups of water in a cooker, when the water comes to a boil, add soaked rice and moong dal.
  • After adding rice, when it comes to a boil, after adding more ghee to the khichdi, close the lid of the cooker and reduce the flame.
  • After one whistle in the cooker, turn off the gas and let the cooker cool down.
